Today, i have presented the reading about the culture jamming during the tutorial class. I think i have discussed certain level of the key points. However, as Wesley said, i have missed out some of the theories that mentioned in the essay and i should focus more onto that. For example, the concept of Foucault and Deleuze that claiming the notion that contemporary capitalism is undergoing a shift from disciplinary to control. And i can continue discussing how the control societies operate nowadays. More than that, i can also focus on the sabotage and appropriation.

ReplyDeleteI think you already had highlighted certain key points about culture jamming, yet more in-depth discussions of some theories and concepts can be discussed.
Regarding Adbuster, apart from viewing the ads and videos that they produced, we can also try to understand their motive behind for producing such anti-capitalism ads (as a means to confront the commercialization and power structures etc.)
